Take Individual Courses Without Committing to a Full Program

At CSU Online, you have the flexibility to take individual courses without enrolling in a degree or certificate program. Whether you're looking to fill a gap in your current studies, strengthen your academic credentials, or simply explore a topic of interest, our single-course options make it easy to fit learning into your life.

Why take a single course?

  • Transfer credits to your home university: If your current institution doesn’t offer the course you need to graduate, you can take it here and transfer the credits back to your program.
  • Boost your GPA for graduate admission: Taking a course can help you demonstrate your academic potential and meet GPA requirements for master’s programs.
  • Flexibility for lifelong learning: Enjoy the freedom to learn at your own pace, without committing to a full program right away.

Transfer your credits later

If you decide to pursue a degree or certificate at CSU in the future, the credits you earn through individual courses can often be transferred and applied toward your program requirements. This makes it easy to start small and build toward your educational and career goals.

How to get started

Simply browse our course catalog, select the course you’d like to take, and enroll. No application to a program is required. You’ll benefit from the same high-quality instruction and resources as degree-seeking students.
